Born in 1949 in Shizuoka, Japan, Kiyoshi Nakagami began his artistic career in the early 1970s.
Since then, he has consistently explored the "Poetics of Light" emerging from darkness. His unique technique avoids all brushstrokes, instead utilizing gravity and the physical properties of acrylic and gold pigments to allow the work to manifest organically.

His work is held in prestigious international collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) and The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo.
